Print head crashing

So part way through my last print i paused the print to replace the filament (roll was almost empty). after i changed the filament and started the print back up the head did its usual move around the print area then crashed into the side. I quickly aborted the print. ever since it has been crashing into the left hand side and grinding. this happens when i start a print, go through the change filament wizard, or just simply homing the print head. just for testing i pushed the print head to the upper right corner and it still crashed when i homed the print head. It will still print (I have it printing right now) but it cant possibly be good for the motors to be grinding every time i start a print or change the filament. any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Robyn,

Try to manually move the carriage from the right side to the left side. Once it is at the end of the left side, do you hear a click sound? That means the X end stop has been triggered. If you don't hear one, you can find out whether or not the rods have moved out of place and has prevented the carriage from hitting the end stop or the end stop trigger piece at the back of the slider somehow isn't hitting the stop properly.

    Let me know!

when i move it to the front left corner I hear a click but when i move it to the far left corner (where it crashes) i sort of sounds like something is trying to click but not quite succeeding. the rods dont seem like they have moved at all.

Hi Doug. If this is happening please do the following:

    1. Using a cloth or paper towel, wipe and clean off the X&Y axis rods. As dust and grime build up over time on the rods, the added resistance and tackiness of the rod is pulling the bushing off the sliders.

    2. Slide the bronze bushing toward the slider and insert it back into the bushing mounts.

    3. If you have, apply 1-2 drops of machining oil (sewing machine oil) on the rods, and manually jog the extruder around to spread the oil along the rods and bushings.
